Yesterday, after a few days of more fatigue than usual, I came down the stairs with a little more energy. My mind went pretty quickly to gratitude, thanking my Holy Self for the newfound ability.
It is beautiful to feel gratitude. Anything that promotes this is so welcomed. But I also noticed that I was thanking my Self for an illusion. For something transient. Something that may not be here tomorrow.
It is always best to go deeper with our thankfulness. To honor what is real. What is lasting. What is eternal.
And so, we are grateful for Who we are, What we are, Love, Light, children of God. What can never be taken from us, or tampered with or destroyed. What will always be here tomorrow, as long as linear time appears.
Our Eternal Self.
In our gratitude for this, in our focus on it, we are training the mind to remember we are the Light. For a few moments, minutes we are That again. And 'again and again' will bring us seamlessly into the consistent awareness that we are dreaming this dream. And what happiness is this - to look out from the Real, to shine the light of our holiness on all things, to see the face of God in all. To give up the world we don't want for the world we do want.
The Happy Dream - where we live at last in who we truly are.
